Adweek
The online version of the advertising magazine, this features news of the advertising world, plus the Best Spots of the Year and Best Spots of the Month.

The Emergence of Advertising in America 1850-1920
Another Duke University Collection, this includes 9,000 images, with database information, relating to the early history of advertising in the United States.

The Freedom Forum
The Freedom Forum is a nonpartisan, international foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. The foundation focuses on four main priorities: the Newseum, First Amendment freedoms, newsroom diversity and world press freedom.

Media Literacy Review
Includes
links to media education sites around the world, extensive article databases and a directory of international organizations. In addition, each volume offers a special features section focused around a specific topic.  This site replaces the Media Literacy Online Project.

Media Literacy: Free Resources
From the New Mexico Media Literacy Project, resources include lists of "classic techniques of persuasion" which can be used in your posters, brochures, or PowerPoint presentations if you really want to "sell" your product. Also included are guides to creating counter-ads, making a commercial, and how to contact media and tobacco companies.

Media Week
The sister publication to AdWeek, this site reports the top stories in the media world.

Project Censored
A product of Sonoma State University, the primary objective of Project Censored is to explore and publicize the extent of censorship in our society by locating stories about significant issues of which the public should be aware, but is not, for one reason or another. The Publications site features the "Top 25 Censored Stories" for each year.
