FACS course offered at LHS: Foods A -- a first semester course in food preparation and nutrition studies. Regular class activities include food preparation labs, cooperative learning groups and discovery experiences. In depth study of major nutrients underscores food lab applications.
Foods B – a second semester course in nutrition and food preparation follows similar food lab activities as first semester. All different cooking experiences and different units of nutrition studies are studied. Both courses seek to develop “life skills” – these are skills and knowledge that kids will use as adults to improve the quality of their lives
