Social Studies Sponsered Clubs:

The Social Studies curriculum at Lahser High School is designed to help students develop and improve the skills that will be necessary in order for them to compete in an increasingly global society.  The faculty members are skilled and experienced in their respective fields making them highly qualified to help students develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills.

The curriculum is designed so that students will have the opportunity to gear their course selection in the way that best suits their educational needs.  Advanced Placement courses are offered in each of the major fields, as well as elective courses that appeal to student interests.  Along with the traditional curriculum, the department also sponsors a number of clubs and organizations that promote community service, leadership, and cultural awareness.

Doodlebug Project
The sophomores in American Studies are studying the Roaring Twenties and the implementation of the assembly line. After discussing how Henry Ford revolutionized mass production with the Model T, the classes simulated different methods of executing the assembly line. In the videos below, you will hear the students keep saying, “If we were making cars, our way would have worked best” because they are competing for the fastest assembly time in order to maximize effeciency.
