Varsity Letter Requirements
- The Lahser cross country athlete must display outstanding participation and attendance for the entire season including all practices and competitions.
- We will practice Monday - Friday, from 2:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
- Appointments should be scheduled, whenever possible, so as to avoid missing practice.
- Arrange to make up tests and get extra help at times that will not conflict with practice.
- Missing practice or a meet because of employment is not a valid excuse.
- If your name does not appear on the absence list or you do not see the head coach before practice, about missing practice, your absence will be considered unexcused.
- You will be allowed two unexcused absences. The third unexcused absence will exclude you from the next meet.
The fourth unexcused absence will dismiss you from the team. (See student code of conduct)
- All injuries and illnesses should be reported to the head coach and athletic trainer.
- Those with injuries should report to practice for treatment or consultation with the trainer.
- The Lahser cross country athlete must display an outstanding team and individual attitude for the entire season.
- The Lahser cross country athlete must display outstanding performance in meet competition throughout the season.
- A Lahser runner must qualify by finishing for the varsity team (top 7) a minimum of three times or place ahead of another teams varsity (top 7) runners on two different occasions.
- The Lahser cross country athlete must run a time standard of: Boys- 18:30.0 (5K), Girls- 24:30 (5K) or better during the course of the season.
- In addition to these requirements, each Lahser cross country athlete will abide by the Lahser
High School Academic and Athletic code's.
- The coach reserves the right to determine whether the cross country athlete has met the listed criteria.
