Ramadan Mubarak Yup It's Ramadan again. In the month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world come together and fast in this holy month of Ramdan, the month in which the Qu'ran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh). During Ramadan, Muslims fast depending on the site of the first moon and this year it was cited November 26th meaning November 27th is the first day of fasting. Also, During Ramadan, taraveeh prayer is done. In Ramadan muslims gain self-restraint and patience from evil. They learn to be patient and share the feeling of the needy and the poor and how they suffer. Just to get a feeling of how things are in the world. It helps muslims realize the oneness of God and how merciful he is upon us for he has given us so much, yet we do not even appreciate his mercifulness. In Ramadan, Muslims learn to be self-patient, calm, cool, and they refrain themselves from their regular daily social activities. Muslims deviate away from the evil mischief's and wrong doings and try to complete as much good as they can. They go about using less and less and almost and hopefully no profane vocabulary. It is a sort of spiritual healing. After this incredible time of fasting, Muslims have a tremendous celebration called Eid-ul-Fitr. During this time of celebration, Muslims do not fast and they come together in their holy mosque and chant Allaha-o-Akbar (meaning God is great). Together they eat, socialize, pray and make prayers for the Prophet and to God. |
