Lahser High School - Attendance Information

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

The Lahser attendance regulations require that parents notify the Attendance Office by phone whenever their son or daughter is absent. Parents must call the office within 24 hours of the absence. NOTES ARE NOT ACCEPTED. (From 7:00 am the day of the absence until 7:00 am the following morning.) To excuse an absence over 24 hours, please call an administrator. When calling in an absence, please be prepared to give the following information:
	1. Student's name-please spell the last name 2. Your name - relationship to the student 3. Phone number where you can be reached 4. Date and time of the absence 5. Reason for absence - (This is a STATE REQUIREMENT!)
The attendance office is open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:32 p.m. The attendance office is also equipped with voice mail to take your phone calls 24 hours a day. We check our voice mail approximately every 15 minutes
PLEASE NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT: • Students are not allowed to leave campus without prior parental permission. If your student must leave campus during the school day, call the Attendance Office IN ADVANCE to give permission for your student to be excused. • Students must check in and out of the Attendance Office when leaving campus. It is the student's responsibility to pick up their pass from the Attendance Office before school or in between classes. If a student leaves without checking out with the Attendance Office they will be unexcused. • A student may not exceed four (4) unexcused absences... ... in a given class per semester without loss of credit. You are encouraged to keep track of your child's absences and calls made on your calendar. • If a student is going to miss two (2) or more days of school... ... (other than illness) they need to pick up or print out a Pre-arranged Absence Form from the Attendance Office. It needs to be filled out by all the student's teachers and parent signature and then turned into the Attendance Office. • Final Exam Week attendance requirements: Unless prior arrangements have been made with the teacher, students are expected to be in ther exam classes on time including Gym Class Emergency Information An Emergency Form is provided for all students. This form needs to be filled out by the parents/guardian and turned in when your student picks up their schedule in August. Please be sure to include anyone that has authority to excuse your child or your student will not be released.
