Meet Sean Forbes, class of 2000, who was the president of the Deaf Adventure Club. Sean is a rarity because he is profoundly deaf and yet shares his families passion and talent for music. Upon graduation from Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester N.Y., Sean pursued his dream in the music industry and his “soundless” experience lead him to be the co-founder for the non-profit Performance Artists Network or
D-PAN, which is a group aimed at making music accessible to the deaf nd hard of hearing communities.

Neil Mandt
1987

Neil Mandt
Neil Mandt, class of 1987, was destined for success.  A child actor with a lifelong interest in the entertainment business, Neil was one of the first students to start his career in the Lahser TV Studio, which opened in 1986, where he made numerous productions.

Neil began his professional television career in Detroit as the entertainment reporter for the NBC affiliate WDIV TV-4 at the tender age of 20.  From Detroit, Neil moved out to Los Angeles where he continued working as a freelance producer/reporter working on such projects as ABC News’ coverage of the OJ Simpson Criminal Trial.  In 2000, Neil was contracted by NBC to work as Producer at the Olympics in Sydney where he won an Emmy Award for his efforts. 

Neil has also been a contributing Producer to five ESPY awards and two X-Games. In 2006 Mandt Bros Productions produced the feature length movie and internet series “Last Stop for Paul.” The film is currently making the rounds on the film festival circuit and is the most award winning independent film of 2007.

Nicole Matisse
Nicole attended LHS for four years, graduating in the class of 2006. While she was at Lahser, she took eight advanced placement classes and eight classes at Oakland Community College during her senior year, earning her enough college credits to enter the University of Michigan as a junior. After only one vigorous year, Nicole will make history, graduating this summer with a bachelor’s degree in psychology! Her next step is Wayne State University’s law school.

Tanith Belbin
Tanith Belbin attended LHS for two years:1999 & 2000. Tanith dazzled the world with her performances in the Ice Dancing competition during the 2006 Windter Olympics in Torino, Italy. As members of the United States Olympic Team, Tanith and her partner Agosto, won the Silver Medal in the 2006 Olympics
Ice Dancing competition.

Jamie Silverstein
Jamie attended LHS for four years. Jamie and her partner Ryan O’Meara came in 16th in the 2006 Olympics Ice Dancing competition in Torino, Italy as members of the United States Olympic Team.

Dr. James Moeller
Dr. Meoller is a former graduate of Lahser High School, Class of 1983. He is making his mark in the world at
the 2006 Olympics as one of the 10 Olympic Team doctors. Jim is also the team physician for Bloomfield Hills High Schools. His sports medicine practice is located on University Dr in Auburn Hills.

Dave Kalstein
Dave is a 1995 graduate of Lahser who attended The University of Pennsylviana. He spent time working at GQ magazine before writing his recently published novel Prodigy.

Michelle Ray Smith
Michelle is a 1992 graduate of Lahser who now has a successful career as a model and actress in New York. In the past six years, Michelle has appeared on magazine covers and TV Commercials and is currently working on the soap opera, The Guiding Light.

Armen Keteyian
Armen Keteyia
1971

Armen Keteyian
Armen is a former Lahser High School grad (Class of 1971) who is now an NFL reporter for CBS.  He has worked for Sports Illustrated, ABC, NBC, HBO, and now CBS.   He has won seven Emmy Awards for his sports reporting. Armen is also a co-writer for over 9 books, most recently the New York Times best seller, Why You Crying.
