Hosting a Party for Teenagers?
This is information as a parent you must read!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
“Just Don’t Do It”
From the Birmingham Bioomfield Community Coalition

The Birmingham Bloomfield Community Coalition and the Parents Who Host Lose the Most Committee would like to remind parents that it is illegal to serve or allow minors to drink alcohol. It is necessary at all times to take certain precautions if you are having a party at your home, or your child is attending a party, especially after school dances. Children are vulnerable, and we must encourage our sons and daughters to have drug and alcohol-free parties.

Hosting a party for teenagers or allowing an unsupervised party where alcohol is present is unsafe, unhealthy, unwise, and most importantly, illegal. Simply stated: Parents who provide alcohol to their children's friends under any circumstance-- even in their own homes-- are breaking the law. Parents who knowingly allow a person under 21 to remain in their home or on their property while consuming or possessing alcoholic beverages can be prosecuted. Parents can be sued if they give alcohol to anyone under 21, and they, in turn, hurt someone else, hurt themselves, or damage property.

If You Break The Law ....
You can face a minimum sentence of months in jail and/or a $500 fine, in Birmingham, Bloomfield, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin. You can be sued you if you give alcohol to anyone under age 21, and they, in turn, hurt someone else, themselves or damage property. Officers can take any alcohol, money or property used in committing the offense.
