It's that time of year when our Michigan Television and production community professionals and students are honored with an EMMY nomination and in many cases the EMMY Statuette itself. The honor and proud tradition that makes the EMMY and the Awards events,
are now in it's 29th year in our great state. The Emmy is the highest honor you can receive in Television in Michigan and it looks really good on a resume!
This year's Dr. Lynne Boyle/John Schimpf PSA Scholarship Program for 2008. Lahser students won both the first and second place awards this year!!! The first place winner will receive $1000, and 2 tickets to the Emmy Gala. That winner is Emily Bodden, a Lahser Freshman. The second place winner will receive $500 and 2 tickets to the Emmy Gala. That winner is Lahser Sophomore, Nicole Pentis (pictured at right) .
The Michigan Emmy Gala will be held this year at the fabulous and historic Gem Theater in downtown Detroit.
Each year the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences holds a PSA Competition for high school students. This year’s topic was “Breast Cancer and You.” This marks the 17th time since 1990 that Bloomfield Hills Students have captured this prestigious honor under the tutelage of instructor Dr. Donna Learmont. |
