Mrs. Christine DiPilato is currently in her first year as Associate Principal at Lahser High School. A graduate of Troy High School, Mrs. DiPilato is returning to Michigan after beginning her Educational career in Chicago and Boston. Mrs. DiPilato attended Michigan State University where she gained her Bachelors degree in Communication through the Honors College. She went on to earn a Masters degree in Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. At Northwestern University, Mrs. DiPilato directed the College Preparation Program and taught writing. After graduating from Northwestern, she taught high school English at the Latin School of Chicago where she also coached girls’ soccer and advised student council.
Mrs. DiPilato attended Harvard University where she earned a Masters in Educational Leadership. She served as Assistant Principal of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Swampscott High School in Swampscott, MA. During her tenure in Swampscott, Mrs. DiPilato led the district in working toward curricular alignment 5-12 and establishing Power Standards in core academic content areas. She was instrumental in implementing an academic intervention model to support freshmen in literacy and numeracy. In addition, Mrs. DiPilato introduced common planning time, formative assessments, professional learning communities, and teaching in the longer block at Swampscott High School.
Mrs. DiPilato is well versed in research-based best practice concerning high school renewal. She has attended the Stanford School Redesign Institute, worked with Doug Reeves of Lead and Learn, collaborated with Research for Better Teaching Institute, and maintains a close connection with Harvard University’s Principal Center.
Mrs. DiPilato is excited to become a part of the Lahser community. She is an avid supporter of extracurricular activities; she looks forward to attending various athletic competitions, musical performances, as well as dramatic and artistic exhibitions. She is looking forward to working with students and parents as the school year begins. |
