Mrs. Tracy Hall is currently in her first year as Associate Principal at Lahser High School. Mrs. Hall is a native Detroiter and a graduate of the Detroit Public Schools. Mrs. Hall earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Arts in Education, both from California State University, Northridge, as well as a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.
Mrs. Hall taught high school English at Chatsworth High School in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she was also the adviser of an award-winning yearbook, a member of Humanitas, a humanities based curriculum providing a balanced educational program in English, social studies, and visual arts, as well as an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program teacher. Mrs. Hall also taught at Bowman High School, an alternative high school, in the William Hart Union School District in southern California, where she worked with students of varying abilities, in a credit recovery educational program.
In 2001, Mrs. Hall returned to her native Michigan and worked for PLATO Learning, Inc. as an Education Consultant, where she was responsible for providing professional development for school districts and governmental and community agencies using PLATO educational software. She then returned to education and began working for the Detroit Public Schools, first as an English teacher at Cody High School and most recently, as the Curriculum Coordinator at Renaissance High School, a college preparatory high school. While at Renaissance, Mrs. Hall’s responsibilities included: Test Coordinator, Data Specialist, Wayne State University dual enrollment liaison, and supervising the English department. Additionally, she was a member of the NCA- School Improvement committee and the Skillman Foundation’s “Good Schools” grant writing team.
Mrs. Hall has done research in the areas of writing across the curriculum, gifted and talented education, instructional best practices and professional learning communities. She is a firm believer in equity in education and using data to improve instruction.
Mrs. Hall is looking forward to a great school year at Lahser and is excited to be a member of the Bloomfield Hills Schools community. Mrs. Hall is married (Korey) and has two sons (Bryce & Braden). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and her newest passion, gardening. |
