FINANCIAL AID
Paper copies of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will no longer be available in the CRC. Students will be able to obtain a paper FAFSA by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243). Students may request up to three copies and should receive them in three to seven business days. Also new for 2008-09 is a PDF version of the FAFSA that students can submit for processing. The form will be available mid-November at www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov. Students are encouraged, however, to use the online method for filing the application by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Mezey.

CAREER RESEARCH SITES
Career Cruising - www.careercruising.com. Initial user name is lahser; initial password is bloomfield. Students have a unique username and password to access their individual EDP.
ConnectEdu - http://www.connectedu.net/. Students have a unique user name and password. An overview of the site can be accessed by clicking "Parent". Beginning with the Class of 2009 this program will be used for submitting college applications, transcripts and letters of recommendation directly to participating colleges. The University of Michigan, Michigan State University and many other Michigan and out-of-state colleges also participate with the ConnectEdu program. Students will also be able to access the status of applications on-line through ConnectEdu. We will again be offering parent training sessions -- Watch for future emails regarding this program.

CAREER PATHWAYS
Arts and Communication - Careers are related to humanities and performing, visual, literary and media arts (ex. graphic, interior, fashion design; architecture, writing, film)

Business, Management, Marketing and Technology - Careers include entrepreneur, sales, marketing, finance, accounting, personnel, economics and management.

Engineering/Manufacturing and Industrial Technology - Careers are related to technologies necessary to design, develop, install and maintain physical systems.

Health Sciences - Careers are related to the promotion of health and treatment of disease. They include research, prevention, treatment and related technologies.

Human Services - Careers are related to economic, political and social systems. They include education, government, law, military, religion and social services.


Natural Resourses and Agriscience - Careers are related to agriculture, the environment and natural resources.

Selective Service - Almost all male U.S. citizens, and male aliens living in the U.S., who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service.
