Seniors – Who need Community Service Hours

Attention:
Do you still need Community Service hours or NHS hours?

We are having a recycling can and bottle drive on the first Saturday of every month and need students to help. This is a great way to get some hours and help raise money for the All Knight Party.

If you would like to volunteer contact Sue McAvoy 248-454-1117.

Seniors – (MEA)Scholarship

Seniors – the Michigan Education Association (MEA) Scholarship is available to students who plan on attending a Michigan public community college, a four-year degree-granting institution or a vocational training institution in the fall of 2010.  Applications are available in the CRC.

6 Steps to Process Your College Application

Step 1: Your transcript MUST be into Mrs. Wagner signed by a parent or guardian

Step 2: A college router sheet (located in the Counseling Office) must be completely filled out accompanied with the $3.00 processing fee

Step 3: The counselors would like the following filled out and submitted to them before they sign or write a recommendation for you:

• Senior Parent Questionnaires
• Senior Student Questionnaires
• Personal resume

Step 4: Any paperwork from the college must accompany the router sheet (many times after you submit your college application on-line a “counselor or secondary school” page must be printed.)

Step 5: Any teacher recommendations from teachers must be given to Mrs. Wagner. She will keep your recommendations in a file for you and copy them per your request for the application. It is your responsibility to remind the teacher that you asked for the recommendation.

Step 6: Be patient!! Some colleges get back to you in two weeks; some in 8 months. In many cases, the earlier you get your application in, the better chance you have in getting into that college.

Good Luck!!
