Support Groups Alliance - For students who are either new to the district or are simply having some difficulty making new connections with peers. The group meets on Wednesdays during the second and third cardmarkings. The sessions alternate each week between a class period one week (changing progressively) and STEP time the next. This format makes it so that students do not miss any one class more than once a semester in order to attend group. When the student does miss a class for group, they are able to go to that class during STEP time later that day to connect with their teacher about what they missed. To become part of this group, simply notify Mr. Woodberg of the student's interest sometime during the first cardmarking (August- October). Minority Issues - The purpose of this group is to provide an opportunity for students to process issues related to teenagers, in particular, how these issues affect minority students. Students must be nominated for this group and are ultimately selected by the pre-existing members of the group. The reason for this, is that group trust is an important aspect of the potential success of this group. The group meets on Wednesdays during the second and third cardmarkings.
